Well I've had two lousy days in the row and since nature has sent us lots of not so lovely snow, I'm sore from shoveling.
So I decided to make up a silly/sarcastic song. I'm no professional songwritter and I made the words uo today as I walking down the street. So try to bear with me.

Winter Blues
melody the song (Silver Bells)
Words by me, myself, and I

City sidewalks full of snow 20" high will be 60 by the end of December
because the city doesn't ensure anybody clears them
For they assume everyone drives a car.

Winter Blues
Winter Blues
It's winter time in the city
Hear horns honk
Hear horns honk
Because the pedestrians have to walk in the Streets!

Dedicated to all the pedestrians in every city that gets snow in the winter time."

Reminds me of the many years in NY where we had to shovel snow and walking in it was the norm even though we had a car. My mode of travel to and from work was by the subway or by cab! I hated the slush too-yuck!

What is bad that even when one walks facing traffic, pedestrians not only get honked at, but flipped off as well.

It's really hard on people when the snow falls and the city doesn't have a policy like the Twin Cities!  Shovel it or pay $164.00 an hour to have them do it for ya!  Yep,  that's the going price to have your walk cleared,  courtesy of the city of St. Paul!

I think there is help available to the elderly and disabled,  those that aren't able to do it.

Can you image being a mail carrier over the drifts and banks of snow?!
