Why do I attract them?

Why is it that approximately every other place I live I seem to get the neighbors nobody on earth would want? First it was the Bosnian gypsies that still rank as the overall worst neighbors ever. Not only did they make an aweful lot of noise, but they also constantly broke fire codes by smoking in the hallways and proping open firedoors. Now I got blesssed with obnoxious African-American neighbors that play loud gangster rap at all hours of the day. Calling the cops has done zero to remady this situation. I think I've done that 10 times in the little over 2 weeks I've lived here. I even resorted to telling the landlord, they did talk to them, but that has obviously not worked for it is still a problem. I've done practically everything one can do, I've even asked as politely as possible if they could possibably refrain from blasting their music between the hours of 12:30 AM to at least 8 AM. At least then I could at least try to get to sleep. However I got nocturnal neighbors, they don't sleep all night long and I literally mean all night. I've heard them from as early as 2 PM and they're still going at 6 AM. Some things I can get like when the kids are playing or when one cries, those are the least of my problems with these obnoxous people. I mean ok everybody likes to listen to different types of music and there are times durring the day, I really don't mind. However when you start hearing the throbbing bass of rap music at 2 AM several days in a row it goes beyond annoying to the point of down right disrespectful inconsideration for anybody else!!!!!!!!

Maybe you should blast your music while they're trying to sleep.

Wow, I'm glad I don't have those neighbors myself as I'd be thinking pretty hard of ways I might be able to drive 'em away too.

I'm a pretty tolerant person, but sleep deprivation can do some mean things and bring out some mean streaks in people. Hopefully you'll get things worked out peacefully.

This is why I bought a house as soon as I could.  And not a town house.

Iconoclast - you read my mind. We have an elderly gentleman neighbor that had a similar problem at an apartment building he lived in.

Well, he's a big John Phillip Sousa fan - yep - marching band music. Some of Sousa big hits were: The Stars and Stripes Forever, Semper Fidelis, and The Washington Post.
He waited until the middle of their "night" and put his speaker face up to the adjoining wall, and blasted his favorite JP Sousa albums (yep several hours of Sousa.

They couldn't even call the police - it was the middle of the day. They keep the volume down on their music after that.

LMAO! It worked for me too. (Not Sousa, though).

Well I can't afford a house so that is out and I already had the moving nightmare from Hell experience. I wouldn't go through all I had to move again for anything it was the worst experience in my life!! Now that is really saying something, because I even consider some of the not so good things about being in the military far better then that. I do have a very outrageous thrash metal album, it sounds just like somebody screaming at the top of their lungs. It really isn't my cup of tea, but for some odd reason I still have it maybe I should play that very loudly at like 8 or 10 AM.
