How exactly do you define race? The only category I think I fit in is American.
Well there is race that is a contest of speed and race that is each of the major divisions of humankind, having distict physical characteristics. With that being said what exactly is "white" the color of your skin or ancestrial background? There are "black" or African-American people that are so light they could be classified as "white". So if it ancestrial background well most of us are decendents of imigrants. The Polish and Irish were treated really badly when they first came here, but did they or their ancestors ever get any compensation. I think the "black" or African-American people blame totally the U.S. and England for the horrible slave trade. Now I'm not saying they didn't take part or play a role in it. However Portugal started the slave trade and continued to have slaves for several years after in became illegal in the U.S. and England. Now as far as I go my ancestry is well rather odd on one side I could be distantly related to the Dutchess of York and on the other I'm Scottish, Irish, German and Native American so acording to historical background of this ancestry it could be said I'm at constant war with myself. First of all the Irish and Scottish are well to say the least not very fond of each other. Also we all know how not fond of the English or "whites" the Native Americans are. So where do I fall?? I just think one think can be said about all the people in this country of imigrants that we should just have one classification and say that well we're all the human race!
