The hardships of apartment living

Today started normal enough I went and got some Xerox copies of some papers, and went to the laudramat. I have to go there because the laudry room in the building I live in is horrible, the machines are always dirty and the lint traps jammed with lint. Then I ran some more arrands and came home. As I was going in (Marie) who cleans the building pulled in the parking lot so I said hi to her. Then I went inside to do some housework because I was expecting company. Shortly after I started sweeping Maria knocked on my door and wanted me to look at something, so I did. To say the least we had a trash emergency there was a huge bag of trash in the front hallway and on the stairs. Then my landlord (who was very angery) took it out a little on me spouting of about my cat that spends all his time in my appartment bothering noone. I was calm even though I was upset that she got angery at me, but I agree with her that the problem was going to be addressed immediately. I even understood her being angery, I mean I would feel exactly the same way if I owned this building and someone done that, but I also know there are some other people I would of tossed out on their butts a long time ago. However I can't control how she runs this building, it bothers me that for 6 years or better she now is just stating some rules. I might not be a landlord, but I think she should of had rules a long time ago and went over them with every tenant. Then she should of had them sighed that they read the rules right when the lease is agreed upon. That is how I would do it and I think all landlords need something like that, so when there is a problem tenant she can state the rule(s) they are not following. Depending on the rule the landlord could give the tenant a second chance. However I think she may find herself in a pickle if one of the times she goes to evict someone over something trivial, the tenant can just state what was agreed when they moved in and there was no other rules what so ever. Unless she goes around with a set of rules and has each tenant sigh that they read it, she could have a problem evicting a tenant for some things. I mean there is no stated rule about music and it took me almost 5 years to get the landlord to see my side of the issue. Now we have a screen finally fixed and the do-dos that live over me prop open the back door to let all the bugs in. She says she has had it with trash laying around, but I'll believe it when I see it. There already is the most disgusting cigarette butt collection all around the deck, cans, bottles, a VCR tape strewed all over, broken bricks, even the privacy fence has had boards broaken out of it. I know who did all the damage and so do 4 other people in this building. The same group who throws dirty diapers on the ground any old place. Which I have seen too many times to care for and then some people wonder why I want to move. I think that is mainly because the apartment I live in iis a big 1 bed room with very high ceilings. Also the building isn't really bad it is just the people that are rented to. 2 families of gypsies from Bosnia and a lot of Sudanese, but some of the Sudanese people are very nice and try to understand and be polite. However a lot of these Bonian people almost drive me crazy, they don't seem to know the differance when your asking them to turn the music down to turning it off. I tried to explain that they can still listen to the music just to please turn down the volume, I even offered to show them what I meant. I'm not an unreasonable person and I give everyone a fair chance.
